Vipers SC made it two wins in two games to move top of the Uganda Premier League after defeating Arua Hill SC 2-0 at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Thursday evening.

The Venoms started the game brightly and took the lead in the first half through goals from defender Livingstone Mulondo and forward Abubakar Lawal.

Vipers coach Lenoard Neiva was happy with the performance of his players and said that his team is targeting the league title this season.

“What mattered most is that we managed to win the game,” said Neiva.

“We also managed to score two goals in the first half. We can go on and build through this momentum. We shall fight hard to see that we win more games as our target is to win the league.”

For Arua Hill, this was their second defeat in two games after losing to Busoga United in their opening match last week.

Ahmed Borini, the assistant coach, promised that the team will improve in the coming games.

“The players lived to the instructions of the technical team although we did not win,” said Borini. “We shall go back on the drawing board and we change that.”

The Uganda Premier League will resume on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a number of matches on the cards.
