Vipers SC and defending champions Kitara FC have secured their spots in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 after crucial victories in their respective fixtures.
Vipers SC cruised past Mbarara City with a 2-0 win at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Goals from Yunus Sentamu and Allan Okello sealed the victory, with Sentamu heading in from a Hillary Mukundane assist before Okello’s stunning free-kick in the 82nd minute.

Mbarara City’s night worsened as Edward Namasa received a red card for a second bookable offense.
This win follows Vipers’ similar 2-0 triumph over KCCA in the league, reaffirming their dominance as they aim for a domestic double.
Meanwhile, Kitara FC edged past Kampala Regional League side CATDA FC with a 2-1 victory at Bugolobi Coffee Ground.
Patrick Kaddu’s 71st-minute header put Kitara ahead before a late own goal from Kikambwe Martin secured their progress, following CATDA’s 84th-minute equalizer.
Despite facing lower-tier opposition, Kitara remains on track to defend their title and chase a CAF Confederation Cup spot.
