Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC will face Botswana Premier League champions Jwaneng Galaxy in the preliminary round of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.
The two teams will meet on August 18-20 and August 25-27, with the first leg to be played in Botswana and the second leg in Uganda.
The winner of the tie will advance to the second preliminary round, where they will face either Comoros’ Djabal FC or South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.
Vipers SC are looking to improve on their performance from last season, when they finished bottom of Group D in the group stages.
Jwaneng Galaxy are also a young team, having only been founded in 2015. However, they have won the Botswana Premier League twice in their eight-year history.
The winner of this tie will be a strong contender to progress to the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
