Vipers SC will be aiming to maintain their undefeated streak at home when they host URA FC in the Uganda Premier League on Thursday at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende at 7PM.

The Venoms, currently fourth in the league standings, have an opportunity to climb to second place with a victory.

Vipers come into the match having suffered a 3-1 defeat to KCCA at Lugogo in their previous outing. Despite the loss, coach Leonard Neiva is confident his team is ready for the challenge.

“We feel we are well-prepared for this game,” Neiva stated.

“The break we had has been beneficial, and we are aware that we will be facing a strong opponent. We will focus on our style of play and strive for a positive result.”

Vipers may be without some key players, including goalkeeper Jack Komakech, defender Rogers Torachi, midfielder Bright Anukani, and forwards Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu, who were part of the Ugandan national team that recently faced Somalia and Guinea in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Cranes squad is scheduled to return on Thursday, but it is unclear whether these players will be fit to participate in the match.

Vipers managed to secure four points from their two encounters with URA last season, winning 1-0 away and drawing 1-1 at home.

URA, on the other hand, comes into the game after drawing 2-2 against Kitara. Their coach, David Obua, emphasizes the need for caution and tactical discipline.

“We played well in our previous game but were unfortunate not to secure a win,” Obua noted. “We have worked on rectifying our mistakes, and I believe we are prepared to deliver a strong performance.”

In another Uganda Premier League matchup, Gaddafi FC will face Soltilo Bright Stars at the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja at 4PM.
