  • NEC FC 5-1 Bright Stars
  • URA FC 5-0 Express FC
  • KCCA FC 5-0 Wakiso Giants
  • Kitara FC 1-0 Maroons

The Uganda Premier League title race was thrown open again on Saturday after leaders Vipers SC suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to BUL FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

With just two matchdays remaining, the gap at the top has narrowed to four points, setting up a dramatic season finale.

Vipers entered the weekend knowing a win would virtually seal their seventh league crown, having emphatically dispatched Mbale Heroes 6-0 just a week earlier.

But Reagan Kalyowa’s late strike for BUL handed the Venoms their fourth defeat of the season and halted any celebrations.

Meanwhile, NEC FC made a thunderous statement of intent, hammering relegated Bright Stars 5-1 in Kavumba.

Emmanuel Ajo led the charge with a brace, while Cromwell Rwothomio, James Jeriko and Emmanuel Kulanga all found the net.

The result propelled NEC to 61 points, just four behind Vipers with both sides now having two games to play.

Elsewhere, it rained goals in the Hamz Derby as URA FC dismantled Express FC 5-0. Cromwell Ahimbisibwe stole the show with a hat-trick, supported by goals from Namanya and Matovu in a comprehensive victory.

KCCA FC continued their strong end-of-season form, also winning 5-0 against Wakiso Giants in Lugogo, who joined Mbale Heroes and Bright Stars on the relegated line-up, while Kitara FC kept their top-four hopes alive with a narrow 1-0 home win over Maroons.

A Titus Ssematimba goal in Hoima managed to take Kitara past Maroons. However, Matchday 28 concludes Sunday when SC Villa visits Police FC in Kavumba.
