Vipers SC will host Arua Hill SC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, in their first home game of the 2023-24 Uganda Premier League season on tonight at 7pm.
The Venoms are coming off a 2-1 victory over Gaddafi FC in their opening game of the season, and they will be looking to make it two wins in a row against the Kongolo.
Vipers coach Leonard Neiva has called for a strong mentality from his players, saying, “We want to create a lot of things during a season and one is obviously mentality, absolutely; it’s spirit, it’s a lot of things, resilience. And yes, we showed a few good signs.”
“We showed very well that in good moments we are a really good football team, in lesser-good moments we obviously don’t give up so far.”
“But it’s still early days. We are not stable yet, that’s definitely the case, you can see that. But we are on the way.”
Neiva will welcome back Patrick Mbowa and Fabien Mutombora from groin injuries, but he will be without Ghanaian forward Fumador Asiwome and defender Hilary Mukundane.
Vipers have won their previous two home games against Arua Hill, and they will be looking to continue their winning streak on Thursday.
