Kyadondo SS has defeated Buddo SS to set up a final against St Mary’s Kitende in the Wakiso Zone USSSA Boys’ Football Championship.
The tournament played in Mwererwe from Wednesday, April 8, to Sunday April 12 saw Kyadondo SS dismantle the final, which has been a case for nearly 10 years, after beating Buddo SS in the second semifinal on penalties 4-2 after a 0-0 draw at Mwererwe Solid ground.
During the penalty shootouts, Goalkeeper Ashiraf Lukyamuzi saved the first two penalties denying Ibrahim Waita and Aaron Okello while Bashir Edema, Danstan Wasswa, Refael Masuudi, and Thormas Ogema converted for Kyadondo SS while Joseph Kakooza missed his attempt.
The victory sent Kyadondo SS to it’s first ever Wakiso Zone final meeting record champion St Mary’s Kitende who beat Aiden College 3-0 in the first semifinal also played on April 12.
Jordan Tugume and Denis Kisiriko scored the goals that brought Kitende back to the Final which is their annual affair,Tugume scored two fantastic direct free-kick goals before Kisiriko’s goal.
The final will now be played on Tuesday of the starting week at the Wakisha Research Center in the afternoon after a third-place classification match between Aiden College Ndejje and Buddo SS at the same venue.
Meanwhile, Aiden College Ndejje and Madina Islamic SS Ngangi represented the Nationals for the first time which replaced Standard High Zana while the other place was lost to the sixth slot as Buddo SS was the nationals champion.
In recent years, schools including Kyadondo SS who qualifier for the first time in 2024, and Greenlight in 2025 have also retained their slots replacing schools such as St Julian Gayaza, Standard High Zana, London College Nansana, and Andy Mwesigwa Comprehensive which have been losing their slots
