KCCA FC defender Enock “Lucio” Walusimbi has expressed delight at how smoothly he has settled in at Lugogo, crediting his quick adaptation to familiarity with several teammates since joining from URA FC.
The experienced center-back has featured in four of KCCA’s opening five league matches and played a key role in their strong start to the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.
The Kasasiro Boys currently top the table with 11 points, having conceded just once, a penalty in the derby against SC Villa.
“I am settling in very well,” Walusimbi told the club’s media.
“When I arrived, I found many familiar faces, and that made things easier for me.”
The former Express FC captain, who guided the Red Eagles to the 2020/21 league title, praised the unity and competition in the KCCA camp.
“There’s hard work and togetherness here. We are like a family. Whether someone plays or not, there’s love, encouragement, and support from everyone, including the coaches,” he said.
Walusimbi believes this positive team spirit is driving KCCA’s resurgence as they chase their first league title since 2018/19 under Mike Mutebi.
Looking ahead, the Uganda Cranes international has set his sights high.
“I want to play more games, keep clean sheets, win matches, and win silverware for the club this season,” he said.
With his leadership, composure, and winning mentality, Walusimbi has brought fresh energy and confidence to KCCA’s backline.
As they gear up for a crucial clash against Vipers SC this Friday at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, his influence will again be vital in sustaining the club’s early momentum.
