The University Football League Chairman, Vincent Kisenyi, has emphasised on importance of growing sports in Universities.

Kisenyi, who serves as the Association of Uganda University Sports Vice President, was representing the Association’s president at the UFL awards held at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo.

In his remarks, Kisenyi stated;

Earlier being in sports was a failure it’s self, they used to say that Sportsmen can’t graduate, we are here to refute that, we are doing that and maney sportsmen are always graduating to become doctors, lawyers and in many courses.

He further noted the aims of growing sports widely in all sports disciplines

We organize sports events at different levels in different sports disciplines, UFL is a national we have so far but we are looking forward to have other National leagues in all disciplines.

Kisenyi also confirmed that;

The winner of the University Football League will represent the nation to Africa University Football Championship, and further chance to represent Africa at the World University Soccer Championship.

The awards were mostly dominated by League winner Uganda Martyrs’ University Nkozzi, despite MVP winner Joseph Kayondo being among the absentees.
