Following Happy Boyz Kagaba’s triumph in the quarterfinal of the Plascon-sponsored Uganda Cup, head coach Simon Ggita is standing with satisfaction after his side exceeded their target set at the beginning of the tournament.

Speaking to Nnalubaale Sports, Ggita noted, “We are at the quarterfinal of the Uganda Cup, it is a place which is not for clubs like Happy Boyz Kagaba, a Buganda Region 4th division Side; normally it is for top teams in the top flight.

We have achieved big, we aimed to reach the round of 64, now we are just continuing to enjoy our moment. We are ready for any team that may come our way because we are under pressure the boys and fans are excited with the moment,” he added.

On Monday, March 16, the Kagaba-based side in Kasanda District became the first side to reach the 2026 Uganda Cup by eliminating Six O’clock Football Club from Bushenyi on penalties 5-4 to decide a 0-0 normal play.

Happy Boyz Kagaba became the only remaining Buganda Regional Football Association representative by reaching the round of 16 when they stopped FUFA Big League Giants Kigezi Homeboyz 4-3 after a 1-1 draw.

At the same stage, Six O’clock ejected another FUFA Big League Kataka FC to go and fall to Happy Boyz Kagaba.

Earlier at the round of 64, Six O’clock FC ejected FUFA Big League’s Mbale Heroes while Happy Boyz Kagaba closed the journey for Young Elephant Academy FC.
