Kampala Regional League | Monday April 16,
- Mutungo FC 0-0 Mbogo FC.
Following a goalless draw played at home in Luzira Prisons on Monday, March 16, Mutungo FC goalkeeper Stuart Matovu has picked the result as an opportunity for the team to recharge,
“The fact we have dropped points, but on the other side it is good because we have been taking the games easily, now we are going to recharge and I promise our team and the board that in the next game we are going to be much more competitive and ruthless.”
During the game, Matovu served Mutungo FC on more than five occasions, with Khalid Mugwaneza, Moses Tomusange, Junior Walusimbi, William Sseruyange, and Hamza Kasumba continuously creating harm during the match.
Looking to maintain their perfect start to the Kampala 3rd Division regional league, Mutongo FC, though they have achieved it with Deogracious Adule scoring from Innocent Tumuhimbise’s freekick rebound off goalkeeper Sulaiman’s save, the goal got disallowed for an offside offense.
Adule had already had a chance to score after beating Mbogo FC goalkeeper, but Defender Muhammed Hussein was able to clear the ball off the line for a corner that produced nothing.
After the game, Mbogo FC goalkeeper Sulaiman talked about the result, “We wanted to win, but Allah had his plans. Afterall, a point away from home is not bad; it added much to our campaign.”
As Mutungo FC chases leaders Black Star, who have maximum points from three games, while the challengers are with a draw and two wins.
With one point separating the two teams, they will face each other on Sunday, March 22, as Black Star hosts the game at Express Ground in Kanyanya, with both teams seeking to maintain their unbeaten run in the league’s second round.
Mbogo FC will return to action as they host Edgar’s FC at Kawempe Muslim School ground for their first game out of Ramadhan, having been with the most Muslim players in their squad.
