Uganda Squash Rackets Association President John Bosco Ahimbisibwe Tamwesigire learnt a big lesson from the 2025 Africa Seniors Squash Championship November 17 to 22.

At the closing ceremony held at Pearl of Africa Hotel Nakasero, Tamwesigire stated, “The way they have beaten us, I was forced to inquire why they have beaten us like this. I found out that our players start playing late. Those young men and women started playing at around 7, and we need to adopt that here.”

As Uganda was eliminated before the quarterfinals, Egypt went on to win both the Men’s and Women’s Championships, while Nigeria and Zambia finished second and third in both genders.

The Championship that took place at Pearl of Africa Hotel, Kampala Club, and Kabira Country Club, where the finals were played on Saturday, November 22, before having the awarding ceremony at Pearl of Africa Hotel in the evening.

We thank the National Council of Sports in Uganda, through the Uganda Squash Rackets Association, for the fantastic event we have had here. Now countries can bid for the next event as they learn from this.”
