Women NBL First round wrap: Tight at the top between JT Jaguars and JKL Dolphins

The First round of the Women’s National Basketball League delivered beyond expectations in terms of competitiveness, without dominance from a single team.

The same cannot be said of the men’s category where City Oilers are yet to taste defeat with only Namuwongo Blazers giving them a tough outing.

The women’s tier was rounded off by JKL Lady Dolphins trumping Nabisunsa Girls 80-48 at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.

JT Lady Jaguars, which tops proceedings with 20 points, have won nine games and lost just two in the opening half of the season.

Runners-up JKL Lady Dolphins, have a similar record with the leaders. They are second only because of the points garnered and leaked.

The four teams that follow have all won eight games and lost thrice, with each garnering 19 points.

UCU Lady Canons, KIU Rangers, KCCA Leopards, and the Magic Stormers occupy third, fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively by virtue of points.

At the base, Nkumba Lady Marines have not won a single match, and thus risk the axe should they fail to improve in the second round.

The same can be said of the 11th A1 Challenge, who have only picked a single victory in the round.
