The Finance Trust Women Super League has announced its nominees for the Coach and Player of the Month awards for December 2024.
Kampala Queens, currently leading the league table with a slightly perfect run of winning thrice and drawing once in its four games, dominating December.
This is the obvious reason why Asefa Hailegabreal of Kampala Queens was named among the three nominees for the Coach of the Month award.
Faridah Bulega, the Amus College Head Coach, returns to the fray after her side won all their two games in the month.
The experienced coach has been nominated for the third time and won once in the last two Finance Trust Award ceremonies.
Fred Alinaitwe from Lady Doves is the other name that appeared on this list after his side won thrice and lost once in December thus accumulating 9 points.
In the Player of the Month category is Kampala Queen’s midfielder Shamusa Najjuma who scored twice in four games, both coming in the 4-1 win against second-placed Kawempe Muslim.
Team Captain Shamirah Nalugya who also netted twice in four games is the second nominee.
On the other side, Lady Doves’ Resty Kobusobozi came up with Seven in the last four, putting a hat trick past Makerere University and two braces against She Maroons and Rines SS respectively.
The winners in each category will receive a cash prize of 500,000 Ugandan shillings, courtesy of Finance Trust Bank, and will be announced at an award ceremony.
The Finance Trust Bank Women Super League’s efforts to promote women’s football are yielding positive results, with impressive team and individual performances.
The awards will once again motivate players and coaches to continue delivering exceptional performances in the second round.
