Soroti City will need the help of their city rivals Olila High School as they seek to climb to the top of the National Women’s T20 League table.

Wilfred Ogwang’s side looks to Olila to do them a good and frustrate Aziz Damani in their doubleheader at the Lugogo Cricket Oval on Saturday.

With both Soroti City and Damani on the same number of points (10), Damani leads the table standings thanks to a superior net run rate.

The two sides split the wins last weekend when they met in a doubleheader that saw Damani win the first game by 7 wickets, and Soroti the second game by 4 wickets.

But, before Soroti puts their top-of-the-table wish in the hands of Olila, they will have to first deal with Jinja SS at the Jinja Cricket oval on the same day.

Should they win this doubleheader and Damani loses just one game, Soroti City will reclaim the summit.

However, Jinja will not be an easy hunting ground though for Captain Janet Mbabazi and her teammates.

With Stephanie Nampiina, Rita Musamali, Sarah Walaza, and Susan Kakai in their ranks, Jinja SS does have a decent team that can cause an upset.

Habib Mugalula’s team played their first games of the season last weekend against Wanderers at Lugogo.

They lost one and won the other which put them fourth in the table standings with two points in their name.

Olila are placed third with four points, but they could lose that position to Jinja SS should they lose both their Saturday games and Jinja win just one.

The other game on the menu will see Wanderers take on Tornado Bees at the Green Oval in Entebbe.

The Wanderers finally got their first win of the season last time out when they beat Jinja SS by 13 runs and they want to build on that.

Up against Tornado Bees who are placed bottom with zero points, this is a good opportunity to add on their two points.
