As Matchday Five approaches in the Women’s T20 League, the pressure is mounting. Two Saturday fixtures could shake up the semi-final picture, revive rivalries and determine who stays in the hunt.

  • Tornado Bee vs Soroti City: Revenge or Lose again

This is the one to watch. Group A’s top clash sees leaders Soroti City take on second-placed Tornado Bee in a rematch packed with history at the Florida Oval at 10am and 2pm

On July 13, 2024, Soroti looked untouchable, dismissing Tornado Bee for 48 runs in the morning and chasing comfortably. But the afternoon flipped the script.

The Bees bowled Soroti out for 32 and snatched a 2-wicket win, the only team to beat the eventual champions that season.

Now in 2025, Soroti is back and better. They’ve dominated every opponent beat Pioneer by 30 runs, then chased 28 in just 4.1 overs, defeated Wanderers by 55 runs and 9 wickets and crushed Tornado CC by 115 and 124 runs last weekend.

With six wins in six games, Soroti leads Group A with 12 points. But Tornado Bee isn’t far behind.

They’ve won three of four matches, and despite a recent slip against Pioneer, they sit second with 6 points and a chance to disrupt Soroti’s perfect run once again.

  • Mukono Development vs Jinja SS: Semi-Final in sight

In Group B, every run will matters with Mukono Development holding onto second place with 6 points from six games, but two heavy losses to Olila last weekend have them on edge. They need a win to stay ahead at the Jinja SS Oval at 10am and 2pm

Jinja SS, on 4 points from four matches, had a break last weekend but also lost twice to Olila earlier.

This time, though, they return with reinforcements, national team stars Rita Musamali and Stephanie Nampiina, fresh from the Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament, are back in the squad.

If Jinja wins both games, they’ll draw level with Mukono and blow Group B wide open. A Mukono victory would strengthen their grip on that final semi-final spot.
