KCCA Volleyball’s women’s team will be looking to secure their first win at the ongoing Zone V Volleyball Club Championship when they take on Rwanda’s APR Volleyball Club today at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda..
The Ugandan side has so far registered two losses in the tournament, and a victory against APR would keep their hopes of reaching the semifinals alive.
With only five teams competing in the championship, the ladies are playing in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the knockout stages. KCCA needs two wins from their remaining three matches to progress.
A win against APR would erase the memory of their 3-0 straight sets defeats to Kenyan side Pipeline and home team Police. However, KCCA will need to solidify their defense to stand a chance of overcoming APR.
In the second Ugandan match of the day, Sport-S will take on home side Police Volleyball Club Rwanda at 5 PM Kampala time. Sport-S is aiming to advance to the semifinals unbeaten.
The Blacks will be looking to emulate their mental strength from yesterday’s match, which they won 3-1 against Rwanda’s Kepler. If they can achieve this, they will advance to the semifinals undefeated.
After winning the first set 25-18, Sport-S narrowly lost the second 25-27, and won a thrilling third set 36-34.
They held their nerve in the fourth set to seal the game thanks to a 25-22 victory.
