The 2023/24 FUFA Women Super League season will officially start on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, with one game in the morning.
The 2020/21 league champions, Lady Doves, will visit UCU Lady Cardinals at 10AM at UCU Sports Ground in Mukono in the league opener.
The two teams drew 1-1 in Masindi and 2-2 in Mukono last season.
UCU Lady Cardinals lost their last season’s top scorer Ashiat Nalugwa and striker Sharon Nadunga, who joined Lindesy College in America.
Shadia Nankya will lead the team in today’s game, with Sandra Kisakye the key player to lead the striking line.
Lady Doves will mostly rely on forward Norah Alupo, who was by far the club’s best performer last season.
UCU Lady Cardinals head coach Godfrey Magoba said ahead of the game:
“We lost some key players like Ashiat Naluggwa but we still believe in the squad we have. Our target is to win every game and make sure we lift the trophy at the end of the season.”
