Upon being named the best cricketer for June, Cricket Cranes opening batsman Simon Ssesazi attributed the award to the tireless efforts he dedicates to the game.
The accolade came after his superb displays at the recently concluded second round of the World Cup Challenge League B held in Kampala.
“Hard work pays, and it feels nice to be appreciated today,” he said to the media at the ceremony held at Route256 restaurant, Lugogo.
“This has come with a lot of effort, I thank the sponsors who have made it happen and I want to do more for the country,” he added.
At the Challenge League B, he managed an impressive 202 runs as Uganda maintained log leadership, going into the third leg in the continuous bid for a place in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.
To take home the award, Ssesazi had to shrug off competition from teammate Ronak Patel and Victoria Pearls’ Kevin Awino.
