Uganda Crested Cranes striker Fazila Ikwaput has been voted as the best player of June in the football category at the Fortbet Real Stars Awards held on Tuesday at Route256 restaurant, Lugogo.
Her scintillating performances at the 2022 CECAFA Women’s Championship that was held at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru saw her claim the accolade.
Now with the Cranes at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Ikwaput was named the Most Valuable Player as the Crested Cranes won their maiden CECAFA trophy last month.
The Lady Doves women football club forward found the back of the net six times in five games, scoring in each of them.
It was however stiff competition provided by her Cranes teammates Sandra Nabweteme and Hassifah Nassuna, all of whom were superb at the regional tournament.
