The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has released the first-round fixtures for the 2026/2027 FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) season.
Opening day next Saturday will mark the introduction of double-headers, with FWSL matches scheduled alongside Uganda Premier League (UPL) fixtures at selected venues.
Reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will host newly promoted Jinja United WFC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, at 4:00 PM. Later that evening, Vipers SC will host Ntugasaze FC at the same venue at 8:00 PM, making the Kawempe-Jinja fixture the first FWSL match to feature in a double-header.
FUFA Competitions Director Shawn Mubiru explained that seven double-headers will be staged during the first round across three venues.
“Stadiums will host an FWSL match and a UPL game on the same day. We shall have seven double-headers in the first round hosted at three venues: St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende; Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo; and Omondi Stadium,” Mubiru stated.
He added that the initiative aligns with UPL club licensing requirements, which mandate that top-flight men’s clubs either own a women’s team or partner with an existing one.
“This will give women’s matches the opportunity to be played across different parts of the country, utilize quality infrastructure, play in front of UPL fans, and promote the women’s game while building a new fanbase,” he said.
Following stakeholder engagements between FUFA and its member clubs, standard FWSL kick-off times have been moved to 4:00 PM nationwide, shifting away from the traditional early morning slots. The change was officially approved by the FUFA Executive Committee.
The remaining five fixtures of the opening weekend will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, all kicking off at 4:00 PM.
URA Ladies FC will host KCCA Women FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, while Makerere University WFC will face Amus College WFC at Nsibirwa Playground. Elsewhere, Lady Doves FC take on Uganda Martyrs H/S WFC at Katusabe Dove Playground, Rines SS WFC host She Maroons FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, and She-Corporate FC welcome St. Noa Girls-Zana FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The 2026/2027 campaign features 12 teams competing for the FWSL title.
