The Uganda Lady Cranes have concluded their business on rugby’s second day at the Africa Games with another win, 50-07 against Ghana.
The Ugandans started slow conceding right under the posts very early to go behind 7-0. The response was as loud as it was ferocious. Uganda scored 50 unanswered points from then on.
It was another statement win, after putting Tunisia on the sword earlier, winning 37-07. The Lady Cranes maintain 100% form and wait for two more games on day 3 (Nigeria and Madagascar), with eyes set on the gold medal.
On the other hand, the men’s team is taking care of business, managing four wins from four outings including a nervy 24-14 win against lowly-placed Burkina Faso. Uganda still has to contend with Benin and Kenya with the ultimate gold medal prize on the line.
The Rugby Cranes lost Adrian Kasito to injury for day two but are hopeful of having the halfback up and running for the crucial day 3 games.
