The American Football Federation of Uganda lost 0-6 to Kenya in a competitive 2022 Africa Zone Series encounter on Sunday at Legends Grounds in Kampala.
Infront a good crowd on a cold afternoon, both teams played their hearts out but it was Kenya that claimed the bragging rights thanks to a George Aanwanga touchdown.
The Africa Zone series is an American Football championship that started four years ago and Uganda is hosting for the first time.
The second edition of the East Africa Bowl – the rivalry game featuring the national teams of Kenya and Uganda, took place at the weekend.
The last time the two sides met, Kenya dominated the first half but Uganda rose to the challenge in the second matching Kenya’s 18 points.
The game played in Eldoret back in 2019 would have ended in a tie but Kenya bagged a late touchdown to claim a 24-18 victory.
