Former KCCA FC midfielder Andrew Kawooya has completed a move to 2020/21 Startimes Uganda Premier League winners Express FC.

Kawooya agreed and signed a one year employment contract to play for the Red Eagles in the next 2023/24 season.

On February 4th, 2023 KCCA FC and Andrew Kawooya by mutual consent agreed to terminate his contract, and he later joined MYDA FC on a short term contract.

Nicknamed ‘Sergeant’ Kawooya helped regional league side MYDA FC to survive relegation in the 2022/23 season.

The flamboyant talent is a product of the FUFA Juniors League with Vipers Junior team.

The 20yr old midfielder has had stints at Startimes Uganda Premier League side UPDF FC on loan before leaving KCCA FC to join MYDA FC.

The soft-spoken midfielder has recently featured for the Uganda Kobs at the CECAFA U-17 in 2018 as well as AFCON U-17 in Tanzania.

Kawooya was also part of the Uganda AFCON U-20 men’s side that finished runners up in Mauritania 2021 and his signing is a major coup for Express FC as they seek to improve on last season’s average performance.
