Midfielder Junior Andama and forward Brian Ade have announced their exits from Arua Hill SC, less than a fortnight to the start of the new Uganda Premier League season.

Andama joined Arua Hill in the 2021/22 season from Calvary FC, but made only a handful of league appearances due to the strong competition for places at the club.

“Arua Hill gave me the amazing opportunity to play for them,” Andama said in a statement on social media. “It was a dream come true for me to play for such a big club in our home league.”

The attacking midfielder joins Arua Hill neighbours Onduparaka FC on a two years contract.

Ade, meanwhile, has left Arua Hill after three years, having helped the club to promotion to the top flight in 2020.

“I want to thank the chairman, the team manager, the players and the fans for their support,” Ade said.

The departures of Andama and Ade add to a growing list of players who have left Arua Hill since the end of last season.

Other players who have left the club include Bright Vuni, Rashid Toha, Innocent Media, Allan Mugalu, Innocent Maduka, Richard Matovu and Rogers Omedwa.

The mass exodus of players has raised questions about Arua Hill’s ability to compete in the new season having finished a respectable 4th last time out.

However, the club’s management has said that they are confident of rebuilding the team and challenging for silverware.

The new Uganda Premier League season is scheduled to start on Friday September 15th 2023.
