Asubo Gafford Ladies FC have opened a case against Ayubu Asiimwe, the manager of Zaituni Namaganda and Kamiyat Naigaga, for breaching the agreement between the two parties.

The case was filed at Kanyanya Police Station on Friday, July 21, 2023, under SD/REF 23|21|07|23.

Asubo Gafford Ladies FC signed Namaganda and Naigaga on a short-term contract until the end of the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League season.

The duo played a key role in helping the club avoid relegation, scoring nine goals between them in nine games.

At the end of the season, Asubo Gafford Ladies FC agreed to sign the players to stay for one more season.

The club paid Asiimwe four million shillings on June 11, 2023, and was due to pay the remaining two million shillings in July.

However, on July 17, 2023, Namaganda and Naigaga joined newly promoted side Wakiso Hill WFC without the consent of Asubo Gafford Ladies FC.

Asiimwe had reportedly received ten million shillings from Wakiso Hill WFC to sell the players.

Asubo Gafford Ladies FC have accused Asiimwe of breaching the agreement between the two parties and have demanded that he return the four million shillings he has already received and return the players to the club.

The case is still ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether Asiimwe will be found guilty of breaching the agreement.

However, the case has highlighted the need for greater transparency in the transfer system of women’s football.
