Uganda exited the 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after losing to Egypt 2-6 in their last group game.

To progress to the semifinals Uganda needed a win against Egypt but in a match played Monday afternoon, the Sand Cranes fell short.

Uganda allowed in 6 goals and only managing to score 2 from Baker Lukooya and Brian Nkuubi at the Vilankulos arena, Mozambique.

Coming into the third group game, Uganda had won its second game against Madagacar 6-3 which gave the team confidence and hope for the best against Egypt.

The team started their campaign on a low note as they suffered a humiliation in a 1-10 loss to reigning champions Senegal.

This year’s finish is the worst for Sand Cranes who finished fourth in the previous edition played in 2021 in Senegal.

Uganda will now play a classification match against Malawi on Wednesday 27th October 2022.
