The group stages of Bika By’abaganda 2023 kicked off on Monday, 3 July 2023, with eight games played on four different playgrounds.
A total of 25 goals were scored, with Mpindi clan recording the highest scores of 5 goals.
At Wankulukuku Stadium, Mbogo came from behind to beat Kkobe 2-1. Allan Kayiwa had put Kkobe in the lead, but Nelson Ssenkatuka scored a brace to win the game for Mbogo.
In another game at Wankulukuku Stadium, Ngabi Nsamba earned a slim 1-0 win over Ffumbe thanks to a second-half penalty from Sula Malouda.
Ngeye and Omutima Omusagi played to a goalless draw in Wakisha, while Ngo and Lugave shared spoils with a 1-1 draw.
KCCA FC’s Saidi Mayanja and Yusuf Mukasa scored each for Omutima Omuyanja, but their efforts were not enough to prevent them from losing 2-1 to Ente.
The highest-scoring game of the day was played at Kawanda SS playground, where Mpindi defeated Kinyomo 5-3.
Mbowa Ivan, Ashiraf Ssaka, Kitenda ibra, Apollo Kagogwe, and Jacob Lukoba all scored for Mpindi, while Francis Mukasa scored a hat-trick for Kinyomo.
Jibril Nsimbe‘s goal was not enough for Musu as Edward Nkalubo and Richard Ssonko scored a goal each for Ngoonge to take maximum points.
Nsenene beat Nvuma 3-2 in a tough game played at Buddo SS playground. Edward Masembe, Moses Kalanzi, and Denis Kalanzi scored for Nsenene, while Davis Kasirye and Christopher Kawaggu scored for Nvuma.
Games will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, 5 July 2023, with eight fixtures.
