The Bika By’abaganda group stages climaxed on Monday, July 24, 2023, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
Last year’s finalists Lugave were ejected despite winning their last game against Ngo.
Defender George Kaddu netted a brace for Lugave, but Daniel Mwanje scored the consolation for Ngo.
Lugave finished 3rd in the group stages with 10 points, only one point behind Ngo and Nsesene.
Ffumbe were held to a 1-1 draw by Ngabi Nsamba, but Ffumbe advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to their superior goal difference.
Pius Kamoga scored for Ngabi Nsamba, while Joshua Lubwama Let netted for Ffumbe.
The draw helped Ngoonge to progress to the quarterfinals after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Musu courtesy of Sharif Kimbowa‘s lone strike. Ngabi Nsamba were denied a quarter-finals slot by the result.
Nsenene also qualified for the quarterfinals after a 2-2 draw with Nvuma. Robert Ssewanyana and Isaac Mpagi scored for Nsenene, while Kinene Tebele and Christopher Kawaggu netted for Nvuma.
Already qualified Ngeye defeated Omutima Omusagi 2-0 at Wakisha thanks to Charles Ssebutinde‘s brace. Ngeye will face Nsenene in the quarterfinals.
The first leg of the Bika By’abaganda quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
