Bika By’abaganda Semifinals Teams Confirmed

The four teams that will compete in the semifinals of Bika By’abaganda have been confirmed after the climax of the quarter finals on Monday.

Mbogo, Ngoonge, Ngeye and Omutima Omusagi are the four confirmed teams that have progressed to the semifinals.

Games at Kawanda SS Playground

The early kick off had two games, in Kawanda, Omutima Omuyanja’s 2-1 win over Ngoonge wasn’t enough to progress to the next round.

In the first leg, Ngoonge beat Omutima Omuyanja 4-1 and Omutima Omuyanja responded with 2-1 victory in the second but were still ejected on aggregate.

David Kakeeto netted a brace for Omutima Omuyanja while Richard Ssonko scored for Ngoonge as they progressed to the semifinals on 5-3 aggregates,

The other game played at Kawanda SS, Mbogo eliminated Ffumbe on penalties 5-4 after a goalless draw in normal time.

In the first leg, Mbogo and Ffumbe played to a 2-2 draw but since the ‘away goal rule’ is not valid in the tournament, penalties decided the winner and now Mbogo have headed to the Semifinals.

Games at Mutesa II Stadium

In Wankulukuku, the early kick off saw Omutima Omusagi and Ngo share spoils in a 1-all draw. Joseph Ssemujju scored for Ngo while Shakib Mayanja scored for Omutima Omusagi.

The draw was another bonus for Omutima Omusagi who had humiliated Ngo 5-1 in the first leg and they came in the second leg ready to seal the semifinal spot, and they indeed succeeded, 6-2 aggregate.

In the other game played at Wankulukuku, Reagan Tigan Kirumira netted the all important goal as Ngeye defeated Nsenene 1-0 to go through to the semifinals.

In the first leg, Ngeye and Nsenene played to a 1-all draw and the winner in the second leg Ngeye have progressed to the semifinals with a 2-1 aggregate score.

The first leg of the semifinals will be played on 14th and the second leg will come on 18th August 2023. The finals of this year’s Bika By’abaganda will be played on 26th August 2023.

The reigning champions of the Bika By’abaganda tournament, Ndiga, are out of the tournament. They were eliminated by Ngoonge in the quarterfinals.
