The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, surprised everyone by appearing in the Masaza Cup final for the first time in five years.
The final saw Buddu beat Kyaggwe 1-0 to lift the third trophy, matching Mowokota as the second-placed team with the most trophies.
Mike Welaga scored the only goal, heading in team captain Pius Ssebulime’s cross in the 23rd minute of the game.
Kyaggwe started with an intimidating display from the beginning of the game but later on, wasted chances to rank their performance as childish.
In the first half, Steven Nyalimo missed more than one chance and in the second half it remained the same case for Yusuf Mukwana and Isaac Ofoyrwoth.
Winning the trophy praises will go to Buddu goalkeeper Marvin Ssebirongo, a student of Masaka Secondary School who replicated his performance throughout the tournament in the final.
To note Owen, Mike Kayongo, Mike Welaga, Pius Ssebulime, Francis Onenarach and Godfrey Kakooza played a vital role for Buddu in the final as they did throughout the tournament. Kyaggwe missed Martin Atiku and Fred Atuhwera due to suspension.
Buddu head coach Simon Dungu Dunga praised the supportive role played by former Mukwenda Godfrey Mbalire as the major point behind the victorious run.
