Busitema University coach Abdulnoor Musisi is confident that a win against Kumi University on Monday will boost his team’s chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the University Football League.
Busitema currently sits third in Group D on four points, level with second-placed Kampala International University (KIU). Uganda Christian University (UCU) leads the group with 10 points, while Kumi is bottom with one point.
However, UCU and KIU have both played one more game than Busitema and Kumi.

Busitema drew 1-1 with Kumi in the first leg at home, with their poor defending costing them two points. But Musisi believes his team has addressed that issue and is now ready to go.

“We did not do well against Kumi at home and now we have to make sure we do well away,” Musisi said. “It’s a big game and one we cannot afford to lose if we want to play in the knockouts.”
“I believe we still have a good chance if everyone gives their best in those three remaining games. I think what matters now is for us to go all out to play and win.
We have worked upon things that didn’t work, especially our finishing, and if we can have a bit of luck, we can advance to the next round,” Musisi added.
However, Kumi coach John Opam is determined to use the home advantage to pick up his team’s first victory of the season.

“From a team perspective, we have always got good preparation for our games, just unfortunately not the result,” Opam said.
“They are coming to our place. If the supporters can get the place rocking and we can start well like we did against them at their home, then there’s no reason we cannot make it a good day.
We have got some good players as well and we can hurt them in the game,” Opam added.
