Buweekula and Busujju have secured their places in the knockout stage of the 2024 Masaza Cup, joining Ssingo and Kabula . Both teams reached 16 points from 8 matches in their group stage campaigns.

Busujju is in the Masengere group alongside Kabula, while Buweekula is in the Muganzirwazza group with Ssingo. Kabula leads the Masengere group with 19 points, while Ssingo tops the Muganzirwazza group with 17 points.

Busujju defeated Ssese 2-0 thanks to goals from Eddie Mulwanyi and Arafat Murugeta, while Kabula who came into the weekend already qualified defeated Busiro 1-0 with Patrick Mutebi scoring the only goal of the game. In the same group Mawokota narrowly defeated Buvuma 1-0 courtesy of Ashiraf Kigozi’s goal.

In Muganzirwazza group, Buweekula secured a crucial point in a 0-0 draw against Kyaggwe at Mubende National teacher’s college, which was enough to send them into the next stage. They also benefited from a previously abandoned game against Mawogola, for which they were awarded three points by default.

In the same group record champions Gomba recorded a significant 3-1 win over Mawogola, securing their second victory of the competition after 8 games.

Gomba’s goals came through a Jeremiah brace and Felix Wafula strike, while Nasulu Kagimu got the consolation for Kooki. This victory lifted them off the bottom of the table, leaving Kooki in last place.

In the Bulange Group, Buluuli remains at the top despite a damaging 2-1 loss to Butambala in a game which cost coach Anthony Bongole his job as head coach. Buddu occupies second place but could potentially move up with a favorable outcome from their abandoned game against Kyadondo.

In the same group Bulemeezi and Bugerere played to a goalless draw, a result that left the defending champions languishing at the bottom of the table, while Bugerere drew level with Kyadondo on 10 points.
