AFCON Qualifiers Fixtures:
1st Leg: Burundi vs. Uganda – 10th October
2nd Leg: Uganda vs. Burundi – 18th October
The Uganda Sand Cranes have completed their final training session at Bunjako Beach, wrapping up preparations ahead of their departure for Burundi tomorrow.
The team has been working tirelessly in camp as they gear up for the crucial first leg of the AFCON Beach Soccer Qualifier against Burundi.
Head coach Akabwai Geofrey shared his thoughts on the residential camp, reflecting on the team’s overall preparations and readiness ahead of the fixture.
“All the players are injury-free, and the entire squad is eager to go out and represent the country. We hope to travel early in the morning so that we reach Burundi early on Saturday.”
With focus locked on Saturday’s opener, Uganda will be aiming to secure a strong result to build on when they host the second leg on 18th October at Bamboo Gardens, Kasanje.
“We believe as coaches that the training we have given them is enough for them to win the first game and return home with an advantage,” Akabwai concluded.
