Uganda U-15 coach Hamza Lutalo has cautioned his players that they will need to double their efforts if they are to defeat Tanzania in the semifinals of the CECAFA U-15 Championship on Monday.
The two sides will face off at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Buikwe District, Uganda.
“We have worked on our striking force since we missed many chances in the previous game,” Lutalo said.
“Tanzania’s playing approach is similar to ours, so we need to be clinical in attack and defend well. Semifinals are always difficult games because everyone wants to reach the final.”
“We have played Tanzania in different tournaments before, but this will be the first time at the U-15 level. We are ready for them.”
Uganda topped Group A with nine points from three games, followed by South Sudan and Ethiopia with four points each. Djibouti finished at the bottom of the group without a point.
Tanzania finished second in Group B with six points, having lost their final group game 2-0 to Zanzibar.
“Previously, Tanzania have been a threat to Uganda,” Lutalo said. “But we are prepared for the battle.”
