CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship 2023 to Feature Seven Teams

The CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship 2023 is set to feature seven teams, after Rwanda withdrew from the tournament.

The tournament will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from June 29 to July 11, 2023.

The draw for the tournament will be conducted this week, with four teams placed in one group and three others in the second group.

The teams that will participate in the tournament are Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Djibouti, and Zanzibar.

This is the second time the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship has been rescheduled. The tournament was originally scheduled to start on June 24, but was pushed back by five days.

“We are happy that finally we shall have seven teams taking part in this season opening tournament,” said Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director.

“We expect a very competitive event.” he added.

The CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship is the first of several CECAFA tournaments that will be held in 2023.

Uganda U18 Women’s National Team players in a life skills and career guidance training.

The CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship and the CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship are also slated to take place.

After the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship, Ethiopia will host the CECAFA U-23 Championship in July.

The Kagame CECAFA Club Championship will take place in August, and the Zonal Women’s Champions League qualifier will be held in Uganda.
