In a bid to make a strong show in the forthcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, City Oilers have added the American double of Tyray Petty and Germaine Roebuck to their roster.
Petty played part in the Oilers’ 2019 qualifiers (Elite 16) in Kigali, Rwanda. Then, he relatively impressed with an average of 10 points, and he’s now back for the October 25th-30th tournament.
Meanwhile, Roebuck previously featured for Calumet College of St. Joseph – a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics school in 2019/20.
During that spell, the forward managed an impressive average of 20 points, and is expected to be a huge addition to the already star-studded team.
They join stars in Tony Drileba, Ben Komakech, Ivan Muhwezi, Ceazar Kizito, Francis Azolibe, James Okello and Moses Maker.
The National Basketball League champions jetted out of the country on Monday, and, they will be taking on Urunani BBC (Burundi), Hawassa City BBC (Ethiopia), Matero Magic of Zambia and Army Basket Club (Tanzania).
City Oilers will make it to the Elite 16 should they manage a top two finish in the five-day qualifiers.
