Champions City Oilers needed to overcome a first-half scare to rally and eventually beat Ndejje Angels 79-57 in the National Basketball League on Sunday.

The eight-time champions were 37-36 down by halftime but returned for the second to win by a 22-point difference.

For a fourth game in a row, Luak Ruai led the scoring charts, this time managing to put up 26 points, four assists, and as many rebounds.

Meanwhile, his teammate Titus Lual put up a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ivan Muhwezi (11) made it a City Oilers trio with double figures.

On the other hand, in a losing effort, three players including Johnathan Odeke (15), Joseph Kumbai (13), and Bolton Rujumba (12) managed double figures for Ndejje.

The result implied Ndejje were losing their fourth consecutive game, but will be keen on making amends when they take on JKL Dolphins in their next match.
