FUFA Women Super League side Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC have parted ways with their coaches Edward Ssozi Kasozi and John Ssaka.
After several meetings, the two parties agreed to separate after one year of working together.
Towards the end of 2021/22 season, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC appointed Edward Kasozi and John Ssaka as interim head coach and assistant respectively.
In their first game as interim coaches, Uganda Martyrs defeated Tooro Queens 2-1 and went ahead to help the team to finish third on the table.
At the start of 2022/23 season, Edward Kasozi and John Ssaka were fully appointed as head and assistant coaches respectively on a permanent basis.
They guided Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC to finish third in the league and also won the historical FUFA Women’s Cup last season.
It should be noted that coaches Edward Kasozi and John Ssaka are the first-ever coaches to win a competitive title for Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club.
Uganda Martyrs have already replaced them with former coach Rogers Nkugwa and Rajab Buyinza as the head and assistant respectively.
Rogers Nkugwa will be coaching Uganda Martyrs for the third time while Rajab Buyinza will add experience to the team having won the 2020/21 FUFA Women Super League title with Lady Doves.
