Uganda’s Netball team, She Cranes will take on England today at 8pm in their third game at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
While England are ranked third in the world, the She Cranes are positioned sixth, pointing at a huge contest awaiting between the two.
The hosts have won all the three games played so far, against Trinidad and Tobago, Malawi and Northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, the Cranes have only played two games, losing and winning one apiece. They lost to New Zealand 53-40 before beating Trinidad 62-28.
In the previous two meetings between the powerhouses, England’s Vitality Roses have emerged top on both occasions.
They won a closely contested encounter at the Gold Coast Commonwealth, 55-49, before winning the other at the 2020 World Cup, 64-32.
The Cranes head coach Fred Mugerwa will have headache on whom to select between Mary Nuba Cholhok and Peace Proscovia.
The latter is unarguably Uganda’s finest and most experienced shooter on the team, but struggled against New Zealand.
She was replaced against Trinidad and Tobago by Nuba who excelled scoring 28 goals to lead Uganda to her first victory.
