Defender Paul Willa has confirmed his departure from Uganda Premier League Champions, Vipers SC ending their three-year relationship.

The right-back joined the Venoms in 2019 from Police FC, and has managed to win three trophies at Kitende.

“Today I say goodbye to what has been my home for the last 3 years. I want to thank all the people who have accompanied me during this time,” Willa said via his social media platforms.

“To the club president, workers, the technical staff, the medical services and all the staff who take care of us. Thank you Vipers SC.”

In his first campaign, he helped Vipers to the league title, before he added a Uganda Cup the following year. Last campaign, he yet again won the UPL as deputy captain.

Willa, who is a full Uganda Cranes international, had limited playing time last campaign, due to a number of injury setbacks.

The arrival of Ashraf Mandela from URA FC, and the presence of Hillary Mukundane have made it even tougher for him ahead of the forthcoming season.

Reports have as well indicated that Vipers are monitoring former Express FC captain Enoch Walusimbi‘s situation, with some alleging a move to Kitende is close.
