URA FC have appointed Jimmy Kintu Mwera as their new head coach, replacing Hussein Mbalangu whose contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
The appointment comes after a disappointing campaign in which the four-time league champions registered their worst-ever league finish, ending the season 11th with 31 points and only five wins from 30 matches.
“URA FC is delighted to welcome Jimmy Kintu Mwera as Head Coach,” the club said in a statement.
“A CAF A Licensed tactician with a proven track record in player development and modern football, Kintu joins the Tax Collectors ready for the challenge ahead.”
Mwera has signed a two-year contract and will be assisted by Godfrey Magoba, who has also joined on a two-year renewable deal.
The pair arrive from Express FC, where they served in the same roles. URA believe their experience in team management and player development will help the club bounce back from a difficult season.
