The Uganda Women Senior National Team the Crested Cranes have today played a friendly game with Kampala Select at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Crested Cranes were too good for the opponents as they defeated them 9-2 in a closed door friendly game.
Sandra Nabweteme and Hadijah Nandago netted a brace each while Catherine Nagadya, Fazila Ikwaput, Fauzia Najjemba, Anita Namata and Shadia Nankya added a goal each.
Uganda Martyrs teenager Brenda Munyana scored a brace and the only goals for the Kampala Select Team.
Crested Cranes will play an international friendly this week on Friday against Tanzania Women Senior team at 4pm at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The team is preparing for 2024 Olympic qualifier games against rivals Rwanda that will be played on 12th July 2023 and the return leg will come in a week later in Huye, Rwanda.
The Rwanda Women Senior Team also played to a goalless draw in a friendly game yesterday with the U-15 Shinning Football Academy Boys team.
The winner on aggregate between Crested Cranes and She Amavubi will face Cameroon in the next qualifying stage.
