Crested Cranes skipper, Ruth Aturo has joined the camp as preparations for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations intensify.
Aturo touched base in the country on Saturday from her club side Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat (FC KTP) in Finland.
The custodian was key in Cranes’ qualification for WAFCON when she saved a penalty against Ethiopia.
Aturo was absent for the 2022 CECAFA Women’s Championship which acted as a preparatory tournament.
Never mind her absence, her colleagues did a good job and won Uganda’s maiden CECAFA title while unbeaten.
The CECAFA triumph is a huge motivation as the Cranes return to the continent for the first time since 2000.
George Lutalo’s charges are pooled in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Burkina Faso, and Senegal.
Uganda’s first game will be against Senegal on Sunday, July 3 at a tournament that kicks off on the 2nd of July and ends on Saturday, July 22.
