Former Uganda Cranes skipper Denis Masinde Onyango has visited the She Cranes camp in Cape Town, South Africa ahead of their Netball World Cup game against Jamaica.
It doesn’t promise roses for Uganda against the highly physical World Number Four, on Monday at the Cape Town International Conventional Center.
However, Onyango, who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns, is a hugely popular figure in South Africa as he is the most decorated player in the country and his presence is major boost for the team.
Uganda has so far played three matches at the showpiece, beating both Singapore and Trinidad and Tobago while they lost to New Zealand.
The victories had the team finish second in Group D to have them hit the second preliminary stage.
Meanwhile, Jamaica has won three in as many games, dominating and beating Sri Lanka, Wales and hosts South Africa.
It’s worth noting that in a similar meeting between the two in the 2019 Netball World Cup, Jamaica came out on top after a 57-39 victory.
