David Deng ‘Dikong’ Kongor has ended his two-year spell with the Namuwongo Blazers, completing a deal to Burundi side, Dynamo Basketball Club.

Despite turning out for two years, one was halted by COVID-19 whereas he missed the first round of last season due to his involvement in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) with Cobra Basketball Club.

Even then, Dikong was a major pillar as the Blazers went all the way to the finals of the National Basketball League, eventually falling to City Oilers in the final playoff game.

Dikong comes in as a big purchase for Dynamo, a club that is based in Bujumbura (Burundi), as he averaged 12 points for the Nam Blazers last season.

Dynamo will be chasing their fourth title having been crowned champions in 1998, 2016 and 2018. But they have to fend off opposition from Urunani and New Star in the 2023 Viva Basketball League.
