FUFA Big League table-toppers Kitara FC needed to come from a goal down to beat 10-man Adjumani Town Council FC 2-1 in a bout played at Kigaaya Playgrounds.

Paddy Muhumuza‘s goal and a Patrick Kaddu penalty were enough for the hosts to complete a second half turnaround, canceling out Micheal Ajiga‘s opener on Thursday, to consolidate top-spot.

As Kitara have won all their eight home games, Adjumani on the other hand have failed to win any on the road.

The former stayed top of the table with 30 points after 14 matches, as Adjumani dropped to 15th with only 12 points.

Meanwhile, Mbarara City FC who are the other side chasing top-spot, edged Kaaro Karuungi 1-0 at the Kakyeka Stadium to climb to second with 29 points in 14 matches.

On the other hand, NEC FC fell 2-1 to strugglers Kyetume FC at the Nakisunga Saza Grounds to miss a chance to stay level on points with leaders Kitara. They’re now third with 27 points.

NEC is now level with fourth placed Police FC, after the latter were held to a two-all stalemate with Booma FC at Kavumba Recreation Grounds.

Ndejje University (ninth with 16 points) were the biggest winners of the day as they trumped Northern Gateway SC 5-0 at the Arena of Visions.

Thursday 12th January Results.
