Busoga United suffered their second defeat of the season, falling 2-0 to Express FC at the FUFA Technical Centre Njeru on Thursday evening.
Express captain Allan Kayiwa opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half after Isaac Wagoina was fouled in the box.
The Red Eagles doubled the lead through Odongo’s own goal as he defended Alpha Ssali’s chance.
Express FC coach James Odoch says his side can go far if they continue with their current form.
“If we can continue like this then we shall be able to win our next games. I’m happy that we won and we tried to put up a better performance compared to the previous game,” noted Odoch.
The victory was Express’ first of the season, having drawn their opening game against Mbarara City.
In the earlier game played on Thursday, Soltilo Bright Stars and URA FC played to a 1-1 draw at Kavumba Recreation ground.
Striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored first for the visitors from a Tibita corner before captain Nelson Senkatuka equalized in spectacular fashion for Bright Stars.
