Uganda’s national netball team’s amazing performance at the 2023 Netball World Cup is still yielding fruits with a number of She Cranes stars receiving invitations for professional trials.

Four players flew out of the country for professional trials at two Malaysian Netball Super League clubs.

Malaysian League’s defending champions KL Wildcats Netball Club and Perak Phoenix Netball Club are the clubs to house the stars till November.

KCCA’s duo of Shaffie Nalwanja and Shadia Nassanga, plus Faridah Kadondi from Makindye Weyonje and PrisonsChristine Namulumba Kango are the lucky picks.

According to Voice of Bugerere, a Ugandan website, the two clubs wrote to the Uganda Netball Federation requesting for the four players.

The invitation is for them to take part in the Malaysian netball program that will run from 30 September 2023 to 15 November 2023.

If the She Cranes players impress their potential future employers, professional contracts will be signed.

With the small payback home and the urge to play outside the country, the list of professional players on the national team is definitely going to grow.

The signing of Haniisha Muhameed by the Vitality Netball Super League Club, Storm Surrey, after the World Cup was another major milestone for Ugandan netball.
