According to reports reaching Nnalubaale Sports, the former Express FC goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga has put a pen on a two year employment contract to join SC Villa.
Newly promoted NEC FC and FUFA Big League side Jinja North United were chasing for Muwanga’s signature but SC Villa have won the race.
Muwanga had a stellar campaign when he won the league in the 2020/21 season with Express FC, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process, and was named the best goalkeeper of the season.
After the end of 2021/22 season, the shot stopper left Express FC after failing to agree on Salary terms, and joined Onduparaka FC.
In 2022, Muwanga was named the Captain of Onduparaka FC replacing Muhammad Shaban who had left the club to join KCCA FC.
However, the Custodian terminated his contract with Onduparaka FC in January 2023, and now will play for SC Villa for the next two years.
SC Villa have already re-signed midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda on a two-year working contract.
Muwanga has previously played for URA FC, Sadolin Paints FC, Express FC and Onduparaka FC.
